Senator Joan Lovely Named to New Leadership Position

 

BOSTON – Today, Senate President Harriette L. Chandler announced new leadership and committee assignments for the remainder of the 2018 session. Senator Lovely was promoted to Vice Chair of Senate Committee on Ways and Means and Chair of the Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs. These new positions are critical roles on the Senate President’s leadership team.

“It is an honor to be named Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means and Chair of the Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs,” stated Senator Lovely. “I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Senate President Chandler for her confidence and trust in me. I am looking forward to the new challenges that lies ahead.”

Senator Lovely will continue to serve as Chair of the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities and Vice-Chair of the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight. She will also continue her service on the following committees: Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development, Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy, and Joint Committee on Public Health.

“I look forward to the many important issues we will consider this session and playing an even larger role in the budget process,” added Senator Lovely.
