North Shore Community Development Coalition receives Retrofit Ancillary Grantee program grant

Grants will support investments in digital navigators or tenant coordinators, digital literacy courses, public space improvements and device distribution

(BOSTON—12/2/2025) Senate Assistant Majority Leader Joan B. Lovely (D-Salem) announces that the North Shore Community Development Coalition has been awarded grant funding from the Massachusetts Broadband Institute.

The North Shore CDC will receive $30,500 via the Retrofit Ancillary Grantee (RANGE) program to provide digital literacy, device distribution, and digital navigation/tenant coordination at their property. The North Shore CDC will host cohorts of computer classes, with the target population in Salem consisting of low-income, very low-income, and moderate-income households residing in Salem’s Point neighborhood.

“Thank you to the Massachusetts Broadband Institute for making this needed investment in local housing, which will allow the North Shore CDC to improve the lives of its residents,” said Senator Lovely. “This grant will create more opportunities for residents by improving access to high-quality, reliable, and affordable internet service in their homes.”

The Retrofit Ancillary Grantee (RANGE) supports housing operators with investments in four areas: digital navigators or tenant coordinators, digital literacy courses, public space improvements, and device distribution.
