Senator Lovely Appointed to Ways and Means Committee
(Boston) – Today, Senate President Stanley Rosenberg announced that Senator Joan Lovely has been appointed to serve on the Senate Committee on Ways and Means.
“I want to thank Senate President Rosenberg for this appointment and I’m especially looking forward to participating in the state budget process as a member of the committee,” said Senator Lovely.
The Senate Committee on Ways and Means considers the state budget and all matters relating to the finances of the Commonwealth. The committee consists of 18 members, including 3 members appointed by the Minority Leader.
With this appointment, Senator Lovely now serves on 8 committees. She is the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight and the Senate Vice Chair of the following joint committees: Municipalities and Regional Government, Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities. She is also a member of the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development, the Joint Committee on Public Health, and the Special Senate Committee on Opioid Addiction Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Options.
