Program provides capacity building grants to support business retention and growth

(BOSTON—2/19/2026) Senate Assistant Majority Leader Joan B. Lovely (D-Salem) announces that the Executive Office of Economic Development has awarded Regional Economic Development Organization (REDO) grants, which provide capacity-building grants to support regionally based efforts to grow and retain existing businesses and attract new business to the Commonwealth.

Salem-based North Shore Alliance For Economic Development, which also serves Beverly, Danvers and Peabody, among other communities, was awarded $60,000 via the program. Billerica-based Middlesex 3 Coalition Inc., which serves Beverly in addition to other communities across the Commonwealth, was awarded $144,000.

“Supporting the growth and development of local businesses is critical to strengthening our communities, bringing new economic opportunities, and enriching quality of life,” said Senator Lovely. “Thank you to the Executive Office of Economic Development and the Healey-Driscoll Administration for making these investments in our communities.”
