Senator Joan B. Lovely receives Triangle, Inc.’s 2018 Public Servant of the Year Award

(BOSTON) – Last week, Triangle, Inc. presented its 2018 Public Servant of the Year Awards at their annual awards ceremony and fundraiser, which took place at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum. Senator Lovely was named one of Triangle Inc.’s 2018 Public Servants of the Year.

“It was a tremendous honor to be recognized by Triangle, Inc. as one of its 2018 Public Servants of the Year,” stated Senator Joan B. Lovely. “Triangle, Inc.’s work to empower, equip and create opportunities for people of all abilities has made a huge impact in the 2nd Essex District and throughout the Commonwealth. I’m proud to support Triangle’s work.”

According to its website, Triangle, Inc. through support, challenge, and opportunity, empowers people with disabilities and their families to enjoy rich, fulfilling lives. They are committed to helping the world realize that we are all people with ability.

“I am proud to have been recognized along with colleagues Senator Jason Lewis, Representative Steven Ultrino, and State Representative Dan Ryan,” added Senator Lovely.

According to its website, Triangle, Inc. was established in 1971 by business leaders and families who believed that we are all people with ability. In its early years, Triangle, Inc. provided on-site employment opportunities for people with disabilities from Medford, Malden, and Everett. Because people with disabilities wanted to work and live in the community, they also opened three community homes in their first decade.

Triangle, Inc.’s impact is significant. They have made a total of 234 community job placements for transition-age youth and adults with disabilities, their young leaders with ability served a collective 1,655 community service hours with EPIC, and their IMPACT:Ability program equipped 2,290 students to identify and protect themselves against abuse.
